BODY TONING · SCAR
We work on pigmentation and scars on the back, chest, arms and legs
Marks on the body sit under different conditions from those on the face. The skin is thicker, so needles and wavelengths have to reach a different depth. Renewal is slower, so the gaps between sessions have to be wider. And clothing rubs against it all day. At Give Me Clinic we use four approaches. Laser Toning lightens pigment at 532nm and 1064nm. Secret RF delivers radiofrequency into the dermis through micro-needles to work on indented scars. Rejuran s and Juvelook inject regenerative agents into the scarred area. All are carried out after topical anaesthetic. Injected agents run three sessions or more four weeks apart, and toning runs 10 sessions or more, one to two weeks apart.

LASER TONING
Laser Toning
Two wavelengths, 532nm and 1064nm, reach pigment at different depths. Each shot splits its heat into two pulses, so the heat arriving in any one moment stays low. The course builds up over 10 sessions or more instead. Carried out after topical anaesthetic, taking 20 to 60 minutes depending on the size of the area.

TREATMENT DEPTH
532nm for the epidermis, 1064nm for the layer beneath
532nm is absorbed by the lighter marks and blemishes that sit in the epidermis. 1064nm passes the epidermis and reaches deeper, working on colour that has settled darker. The two wavelengths are used separately within one session, and the heat of each is split in two by PTP dual pulse. Because that lowers the heat arriving in any one moment, sessions can carry on even where the skin folds, as in the underarms, or is rubbed by clothing, as on the back. Recovery is slow on the body. Treating hard in a single session leaves the stimulation behind as fresh pigment, before the colour has lightened.
SECRET RF
Secret RF
Needles finer than a hair pass the surface, reach the dermis, and give off radiofrequency only around their tips. That keeps damage to the epidermis down while the stimulation stays in the dermis. About 20 minutes after topical anaesthetic, three sessions or more four weeks apart.

REJURAN
Rejuran
A regenerative agent refined from polynucleotide (PN) extracted from salmon. Injected straight into the dermis, it changes the conditions tissue regenerates under. About 10 minutes after topical anaesthetic, three sessions or more four weeks apart. For scars on the body we mainly use Rejuran S from the Rejuran line.

JUVELOOK
Juvelook
A collagen booster combining PDLLA particles with hyaluronic acid. As the injected particles break down, the skin is prompted to make collagen. About 20 minutes after topical anaesthetic, three sessions or more four weeks apart.

NEEDLE DEPTH
Needle depth and output are set again for each area
An indented scar is a place where the collagen of the dermis has been damaged. Creams do not reach that depth. The height of the surface changes only when tissue is rebuilt in the dermis.
- 01The depth the needles reachThe needles pass through the epidermis to a set depth, and radiofrequency is given off only around their tips. Application lasts under a second, which keeps down the heat left in the surrounding tissue.
- 02Deeper on the body than on the faceThe skin of the back and shoulders is thicker than the skin of the face. At facial settings the energy does not reach the layer that formed the scar. So we check the skin thickness of each area, then set the needle depth, the output and the electrode again.
- 03Indented scars and raised scarsWhere the surface is indented, we set conditions that build tissue. Where it is raised and thickened, conditions that reorder its density. Where both kinds sit in one area, we divide them across sessions.
- 04Sessions → 3 or more, 4 weeks apartWe suggest three sessions or more, four weeks apart. Recovery is slower on the body, so the gap is wider than for the face. At each session we check the change in surface height and set the conditions for the next.
RECOMMENDED FOR
When a consultation is worth considering
The device and the number of sessions change with the kind of mark and the area. If any of the following apply, we begin the consultation by telling pigmentation and scarring apart.
- Acne marks on the back and chest are still there, and they affect what you choose to wear
- Pigmentation in the underarms or the groin has darkened
- Insect bites or scratch marks on the arms and legs have stayed a long time
- The surface of a surgical scar or a stretch mark is indented or raised
- You have had facial treatments, but you are unsure how the body is treated
- You can keep sessions going one to two weeks, or four weeks, apart
DEVICE BY AREA
The device used for each area, and the interval between sessions
- Acne scars on the back and chest → 3 or more sessions, 4 weeks apartRed marks, brown marks and indented scars often sit together in one place here. Colour is treated with Laser Toning and indentation with Secret RF, separately. The skin of the back and shoulders is thick, so the needle depth is set deeper than for the face.
- Underarm and groin pigmentation → 10 or more sessions, 1 to 2 weeks apartRepeated friction from shaving, hair removal and clothing has darkened the colour here. We build up sessions with Laser Toning and, during the course, keep the schedule clear of your hair removal dates. It takes about 20 to 60 minutes per area.
- Marks left on the arms and legs → 10 or more sessions, 1 to 2 weeks apartInsect bites, scratched places and old wound marks that have stayed on as pigmentation. We treat these with Laser Toning. UV exposure will darken the colour again, so sunscreen is used throughout the course.
- Surgical scars and stretch marks → 3 or more sessions, 4 weeks apartThe surface is either indented or raised and thickened. We deliver radiofrequency into the dermis with Secret RF and, where needed, add Rejuran s or Juvelook to the same plan. The older the scar, the more sessions we plan.
- Tone across the body → 10 or more sessions, 1 to 2 weeks apartNot a particular mark, but a difference in tone between the inner and outer arm, or the neck and the chest. Laser Toning passes over a wide surface across several sessions. Each session takes about 1 hour.
AFTERCARE
Recovery after the procedure
- Same dayRedness and warmthThe treated or injected area turns red and warm. A lukewarm shower is fine. Please leave saunas and hard exercise for a day.
- Days 2 to 3Keeping friction downUnlike the face, the body is in contact with clothing all day. Wear clothes that do not press or rub the treated area, and stop scrubs and exfoliation for 3 days.
- Weeks 1 to 2Crusting and drynessFine crusting or dryness can appear. Please do not pick at it, and moisturise often. UV exposure at this stage darkens the colour again, so use sunscreen.
- Weeks 4 to 6Review between sessionsColour lightens and the surface fills at different rates. At this point we check the two separately and set the combination of devices and the interval for the next session.
- AfterwardsSun protection and frictionMarks on the body settle as the sessions build up. Keep up sun protection and keep friction down through the treatment period and afterwards.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is a scar on the body treated at the same settings as on the face?
Even with the same device the conditions differ. The skin of the back and shoulders is thicker, so the needle depth is set deeper, and renewal is slower, so the gap is widened to four weeks. Whether clothing rubs the area also bears on the plan.
Can pigmentation and scarring be treated on the same day?
They can be divided within one visit, as long as the areas do not overlap. We do not layer Laser Toning and Secret RF on the same spot in one day. Overlapping stimulation lengthens recovery and can darken the colour again, so we leave at least two weeks between them.
How do you choose between Rejuran and Juvelook?
Rejuran s puts a regenerative agent (PN) into a scarred area. Juvelook prompts the skin to make collagen as PDLLA particles break down. To work directly on the scarred area we use Rejuran s. Where widened pores and shallow indented scars are being looked at together, we use Juvelook. The two are sometimes used across separate sessions.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the device. For Laser Toning we suggest 10 sessions or more, one to two weeks apart. For Secret RF and the injected agents, three sessions or more, four weeks apart. At each session we check the density of the colour and the height of the surface, and adjust.
Can I have this in summer?
You can, on condition that UV is blocked. On areas often uncovered, such as the arms and legs, UV exposure after treatment darkens the colour again. Use sunscreen, and if exposure is unavoidable in your schedule, we move the timing of the session.
Will the treatment itself be visible?
With Secret RF, which uses micro-needles, the treated points look like small red dots for a few days. Rejuran and Juvelook can leave bruising at the injection site. If you have something coming up, tell us and we will move the date.
