How It Works
How it works
Fine needles pass through the epidermis and settle in the dermis, and radiofrequency is then applied for less than a second around the needle tips only. That leaves a stimulus in the dermis while limiting the load on the epidermis. As those sites heal, collagen and elastin are produced again. The channels left by the needles are also used as a route for active ingredients to enter the skin.

Mechanism
What it treats, and how
- 01
Past the epidermis, into the dermis
Send radiofrequency in from the surface and the epidermis takes the heat first. Going down to the dermis with fine needles and applying radiofrequency only at that point leaves a stimulus in the dermis while easing the load on the epidermis.
- 02
An application of under a second
Radiofrequency is applied for less than a second to the tissue around the needle surface. Cutting the time short narrows the extent of damage and steers things towards a healing response.
- 03
The handpiece and the needle electrode are matched
An area with enlarged pores, one with deep scarring and one with fine lines all call for different depths. We change the handpiece and the needle electrode as we go, according to the condition being treated.
- 04
A route for the ingredients
The channels left by the needles are also used as a route for active ingredients to enter the skin. Which ingredient goes on after treatment is decided by the condition of the skin.
RECOMMENDED FOR
Who we suggest this for
Even if none of these apply, we look at your skin at the consultation first, then advise.
- If uneven, enlarged pores are on your mind
- If acne scars and indented marks have been left
- If you want to look at deep nasolabial folds and skin texture together
- If your everyday schedule leaves little room for a long recovery period
FAQ
Frequently asked about Secret RF
How red will I be after treatment?
It changes with the area and the depth treated, but redness and fine crusting can remain for a few days. At the consultation we explain the likely course and how to care for the skin over that period.
Can I have this while acne is still breaking out?
Where inflammation is active, it is better to settle that first and treat afterwards. At the consultation we check what stage you are at and set the order for you.
