How It Works
How it works
Faint spots, freckles and blemishes in the epidermis and colour that sits deeper cannot be handled under the same settings. Laser Toning divides its two wavelengths to reach them by depth. PTP mode (Photoacoustic Twin Pulse) splits the thermal energy into two pulses. Splitting the energy that would go in at once lowers the stimulation the skin takes. Genesis mode delivers heat to the dermis, so pores, fine lines and firmness are looked at together.

- About these figures
- The treatment times, intervals and durations given here are the reference values we set out at the consultation. They can differ with the condition of the skin, the area and the session.
Mechanism
What it treats, and how
- 01
Two wavelengths divide the depths
532nm takes faint spots, freckles and blemishes in the epidermis. 1064nm passes the epidermis and reaches deeper. Where colour sits densely, we divide the application settings between them.
- 02
PTP mode, the pulse split in two
The thermal energy that would go in at once is split into two pulses. For the same total amount, splitting it lowers the stimulation the skin takes at any one moment.
- 03
Genesis mode, texture as well
Thermal energy is delivered to the dermal tissue to stimulate the fibroblasts. It is a setting in which pores, fine lines and firmness are covered in the same session, rather than pigment alone.
RECOMMENDED FOR
Who we suggest this for
Even if none of these apply, we look at your skin at the consultation first, then advise.
- If a dull, darkened skin tone is a concern
- If patchy pigmentation is spread widely
- If you want to look at pores, fine lines and firmness alongside pigment
- If you want to carry on through a series of sessions under settings that keep the stimulation low
FAQ
Frequently asked about Laser Toning
Does repeated laser toning thin the skin?
If the settings are excessive, stimulation can build up. That is why we check the response at each session and reset the intensity, widening the interval where needed.
How many sessions are needed?
Three or more sessions at intervals of two to four weeks make one cycle, but it varies a great deal with the depth and extent of the pigment. We read the response to the first session and reset the plan.
