How It Works
How it works
Rather than gathering ultrasound to a single point, it lines up several transducers to create heat zones at the same depth. The treated zone is shallower and broader than with a point-focused method. The depth treated is 1.5mm, just beneath the epidermis in the upper dermis. It does not overlap in depth with devices that reach the fascia (4.5mm), so it can sit in the same plan as Ultherapy Prime with the layers divided between them. The contact surface cools the epidermis while it works. Redness can remain for a few hours after treatment, so we go through moisturising and sun protection with you as well.

Mechanism
What it treats, and how
- 01
The transducers are lined up
Rather than gathering ultrasound to a single point, several transducers are lined up to create heat zones at the same depth. The treated zone is shallower and broader than with a point-focused method.
- 02
A treatment depth of 1.5mm
It treats 1.5mm, just beneath the epidermis in the upper dermis. It does not overlap in depth with devices that go down to the fascia (4.5mm).
- 03
The surface is cooled during application
The contact surface cools the epidermis while it works. Redness can remain for a few hours after treatment, so we go through moisturising and sun protection with you as well.
RECOMMENDED FOR
Who we suggest this for
Even if none of these apply, we look at your skin at the consultation first, then advise.
- If pores are stretching lengthwise and the skin feels thinner
- If skin texture and fine lines are what catch your eye first
- If surgery feels like too much but you want to start on firmness care
- If your schedule leaves little room for recovery and you need a same-day return to routine
FAQ
Frequently asked about Sofwave
How does it differ from Ultherapy Prime?
The treatment depth differs. Sofwave treats one depth, 1.5mm in the upper dermis. Ultherapy Prime treats three depths: 1.5mm, 3.0mm and 4.5mm. Because the depths do not overlap, the layers can be divided and set within the same plan.
What care is needed after treatment?
Redness can remain for a few hours. We ask you to take a little more care than usual over moisturising and sun protection, and to contact us straight away if any discomfort continues.
