How It Works
How it works
The laser energy is absorbed selectively by the dark melanin pigment in the hair and turns into heat, and that heat acts on the cells at the root of the hair. Hair alternates between growing and resting, so one application does not act on every hair in the same way. That is why the work is divided into several sessions timed to the hair's growth cycle. The spot size is large, so a wide area is covered comparatively quickly.

- The treatment times, intervals and durations given here are the reference values we set out at the consultation. They can differ with the condition of the skin, the area and the session.
Mechanism
What it treats, and how
- 01
755nm alexandrite
The 755nm wavelength sits in a band that melanin absorbs well. The dark pigment in the hair takes that light and turns it into heat, and the heat acts on the cells at the root of the hair.
- 02
Divided to match the growth cycle
Hair alternates between growing and resting. One application does not act on every hair in the same way, so the sessions are divided to match the cycle.
- 03
Applied without contact
The energy is applied without touching the skin, with air cooling that runs before, during and after. The spot size is large, so a wide area is covered comparatively quickly.
RECOMMENDED FOR
Who we suggest this for
Even if none of these apply, we look at your skin at the consultation first, then advise.

- If you are concerned about the sensation and are looking for a method with cooling alongside
- If you want to talk through areas such as the underarms, arms, legs and bikini line one by one
FAQ
Frequently asked about Apogee Plus
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the area and the thickness of the hair. We take ten or more sessions at intervals of two to four weeks as a starting point, but the sessions are divided to match the growth cycle, so we reset the plan as we go.
Can I have this in summer?
You can, but it is better to reduce sun exposure before and after treatment. If you have outdoor plans, tell us in advance and we will adjust the timing and the intensity.
